I Am Vu Nguyen
This is the style guide for my personal identity! I am a freelance graphic designer who specializes in photo-manipulation, retouch and branding. I have created this style guide to express the different materials that I identify myself with. The "studio shots" were all created in Cinema 4D to portray a realistic scene. I hope you enjoy my work!

Red Haven Identity
Class branding project for Red Haven.
Red Haven is mid-Michigan’s premier farm-to-table dining experience.
Using the peach theme can be generic, so I had to find a solution that made it modern and unique. I took different aspects of the peach to come up with something simple that can be displayed prominently across multiple mediums. Using a color palette created from taking sample colors of a peach, I was able to create a smooth gradient that makes the logo pop.
I chose Quicksand as the corporate font because it has an organic and round shape which I think captures the essence of the peach.
What's special about Red Haven is that the menu is always changing and based on crops that can be found during the different seasons. I chose to pitch the idea and design the layout for an iPad menu. This is an Eco-friendly solution by not wasting natural resources and it can be easily updated to reflect the changing menu.

Tron: Light Cycle
My attempt at modeling the light cycle from Tron, unfortunately I didn't have access to good blueprints and modeled it mostly from eye and winged it here and there. It's nowhere near perfect but I am happy with the result, I hope to finish this completely once I find decent blueprints.

NIKE: Shock
NIKE: Shock
This was a piece that was created from me experimenting with "MoGraph" or Motion Graphics. I was testing out some new things in Cinema 4D and used the iconic Nike Swoosh as the test subject. I am fairly new in the world of CGI and Motion Graphics so it was pretty cool to create a still out of something I was hoping to be animated. I have uploaded the 3 variations of stills I created along with the original test animations. I hope to one day be well versed in the program enough to create an animation I am happy with. For now, I will keep practicing and learning until I get it right!

NES: Game Controller
My second attempt at modeling / texturing, I spent about an hour and a half creating this render. It was a big improvement from my iPhone that I created, it's a great learning experience! Stay tuned for the next piece!

Nike Lunarfly: Sole Power
This is a personal piece that I created for NIKE. I wanted to experiment more with creating realistic ads, so this is my attempted piece for NIKE. I wanted to show the different featured specifications for the Nike Lunarfly, which is a pair of running shoes created by NIKE. I wanted to highlight the "waffle patterned sole," which creates easibility and versatility for running or training. Hope you enjoy it!

BMW: M.
This is a personal piece that I created for BMW. I wanted to experiment more with creating realistic ads, so this is my attempted piece for BMW. I wanted to show action within a still image, so the ink conveys the idea of fast and fluid movement. Hope you enjoy it!

Perspective
This was a personal piece that was inspired by a scene in the film Avatar. I've never experimented with landscapes, so I wanted to give it a try and add a touch of my flavor to it! I really enjoy the vintage / retro type colors, so that was a big factor in this piece. Hope you enjoy it!
